HR Assistant

Responsible for performing various administrative tasks essential to the overall function of the Human Resources Department.
Greets employees, candidates and visitors to Human Resources and is the front line liaison for assisting with answering questions regarding policies, programs and processes.
Ascertains the nature of visits and refers visitors to appropriate staff. Assists candidates with application questions, their profile and ATS access, when appropriate.
Answers calls to the main Human Resources Department, triages questions and directs callers to the appropriate team member when questions cannot be managed directly.
Supports the benefits function by providing routine benefits information to employees, preparing benefit packages for Orientation, updating internal systems and vendor sites for benefit enrollments, life changes and terminations, and following with vendors to resolve issues. Assists in COBRA administration and ensuring records are up-to-date and accurate.
Schedules meetings for Human Resources leadership and others as assigned. Works closely with other administrative staff to coordinate times and prepare materials for specific meetings.

Prepares New Employee Orientation packages and works with HR team to ensure materials are up-to-date.
Partners with other Human Resources Assistants to ensure cross training in key areas and coverage during peak activity or absences.
Provides room scheduling assistance for all meetings and conferences within the Hospital and coordinates yearly scheduling initiatives.
Enters applicant and employee data into assigned systems to maintain up-to-date candidate, employee and benefits information. Pays close attention to detail to ensure accurate input and retrieval of information as errors create significant consequence.
Runs assigned standard reports for various team members. Ensure accurate parameters and information is obtained from various systems.
Maintains employee files in various Human Resources and compliance files transactions processed. Participates in self-audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Maintains the HR waiting room and office supplies.
Assists with special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

Strong verbal and written communication skills and keyboarding skills normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent experience.

One to two years related office experience dealing with the public, maintaining confidential information with demonstrated ability to multi-task.

Ability to prioritize work independently and demonstrated experience taking initiative

Requires strong organizational and attention to detail.

Strong preference for working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
