We are currently recruiting for a Health Unit Coordinator. This is a full-time evening position.
Position Summary:
The Health Unit Coordinator will assist the Patient Care Staff with organizing the unit's daily activities.
This is a week-day evening position, 2:30-11:00 with some flexibility with the evening hours.
Responsibilities:
- Transcribing physician's order's, processes requisitions for lab work, x-rays etc.
- Cross covers for other units when needed
- Check in/out outpatients when seen on unit; prepares outpatient chart for the clinic
- Prepares medical record for admission, discharge and operating room
- Covers transport functions of unit assistant; restocks unit with necessary supplies
- General administrative/clerical support
- Patient Registration
Requirements:
Prior administrative assistant experience in a hospital, clinic/medical setting. Patient registration experience strongly preferred, along with excellent customer service skills, supporting patient and families. Working well within a team is a key requirement.
This is a full-time evening position.
