The Central Sterile Technician decontaminates, cleans, assembles, requisitions, stores, and sterilizes supplies, instruments sets, and trays according to policy and procedure while using aseptic technique. Works closely with OR personnel and maintains the OR / CS supply room and supports other Hospital departments with their sterilization needs. Qualified candidate will need to demonstrate ability to follow directions and comply with various processes. Must be organized, thorough, take initiative and have high standards in quality of work.
1 year Central Sterile or surgical instrumentation experience and High School Diploma/GED preferred. Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) preferred. If not currently certified, Shriners Hospital (SHC) will financially support certification and candidate must attain as condition of employment.
Position is fully benefited with medical, dental, vision, paid time off, retirement match and more! 36 hours per week Monday-Thursday. SHC will require flexibility for potential coverage based on surgical scheduling needs which may include occasional Fridays.
