On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Plant Engineer to be effective at providing technical expertise in the operation, maintenance, and optimization of all Plant utility systems. The Plant Engineer works closely with the Facilities staff to improve the utility systems performance and reliability, however this is not a facilities position.
Primary Duties
* Provide direct engineering support for the clean utilities including USP purified water, clean steam, and process gases
* Provide technical support for plant utilities including chilled water, steam, boilers, and condensate systems, including the associated BMS controls.
* Provide GMP HVAC support is to include expertise in air distribution, HEPA filtration and certification, and pressure differential and pressure alarming strategies
* Must be able to perform specific safety objectives to include proactively evaluating the safety of the operation of the utility and HVAC equipment and propose and implement safety improvements
* Participate on project teams through all phases of engineering projects in the HVAC and utility areas including conceptual design, detailed design, equipment procurement, construction, installation, start up, commissioning, validation, and qualification of facilities and/or equipment.
Education Requirements:
* BS in Engineering or equivalent
* 2-5 years professional experience required in engineering, facilities or operations
Additional Skills/Knowledge:
* Working knowledge of HVAC, Boilers, Chillers and Purified Water
* Act as a SME for operation and troubleshooting
* Hands on experience is very important.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) are required.
* Must be able use his/her technical background to investigate issues using a structured problem solving approach to determine true root cause and develop effective corrective and preventative actions
* Must be able to be able to find true root cause and path forward for complex problems.
* Working knowledge of MS Office Suite are required and basic statistical analysis techniques are preferred
* Strong attention to technical detail
* Strong mechanical, electrical and process hands on capabilities
* Demonstrates appropriate safety consciousness
* Familiarity with automated Building Management Systems (BMS), Schneider EcoStruxure system preferred.
