Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Counselor at the Crisis Stabilization Unit at Behavioral Health Network!

Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Crisis Stabilization/Respite Program with the following:

  • Provide for the daily needs of persons served in the program and ensure the safety and organization of the unit.
  • Document progress on each shift by giving shift report on all persons served and shift activity
  • Oversee housekeeping tasks as assigned
  • Supporting and communicating the needs of persons served in the program, including use of mental status, social functioning and level of risk.

The Crisis Stabilization/Respite Unit is a safe, supervised, 9-bed environment combining Department of Mental Health (DMH) and Crisis beds. Individuals receive a range of services, including medication evaluations, groups, and one-on-one meetings

What are we looking for in an Overnight Shift Counselor?

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Knowledge of a mental health population.
  • Ability to work as a team member and to follow through on individual tasks.
  • Ability to relate and establish support with psychiatric individuals, family members and service providers.
  • Good observation and documentation skills.
  • High motivation to work with a mental health population.
  • Must have familiarity with internet, word processing and e-mail systems.
  • 1-year experience in a human service field or equivalent experience with a psychiatric population.
  • **NOTICE**
  • In accordance with the BHN Mandatory COVID vaccine policy - all staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors are required to be fully vaccinated no later than day one of employment. Medical or religious exemptions will be offered and must be approved prior to starting work.
