The Opportunity:
This is a role based at our North American HQ in Andover, MA and post pandemic will be required to be in the office.
Work closely with Engineering and Construction and Business Development groups on Interconnection needs while assessing the grid and transmission requirements for the operating portfolio of renewable generating plants in support of Plant Operations of O&M. To ensure that all ISO & NERC Compliance requirements are known and accounted for. Ensure cooperation with our internal NERC Compliance Group on programs and tools to meet all ongoing regulatory requirements.
What You'll Do at Enel:
• Provide technical support to Power Settlements for PPA management and NERC compliance team for NERC compliance related items.
• Lead and Coordinate NERC MOD-025/026/027 Testing for newly commissioned and existing plants.
• Supply and verify plant modeling information in accordance to NERC MOD-032 compliance requirements.
• Verify and provide technical solutions for the ancillary service and grid regulation required by Transmission Owner
• Monitoring of Grid Code/Regulatory norms and the impact of technical changes
• Work in a project team environment interacting with individuals with various technical specialties and industry experience
• Work with Energy Management in the management of our P&E of both TRS, PPAs and IAs to ensure that contracts are kept current and valid as plants, systems and other changes occur
• Lead and coordinate metering design reviews with engineering, contractors, RTO and Transmission Owner. Review and/or answer Requests for Information.
• Lead and coordinate outage management processes for existing plants
• Coach and mentor less senior member of the Grid Connection Engineering team in performing their essential job functions.
• To issue periodical reports in order to monitor and control the activities related to grid connections for operating projects;
• To share best practices and lessons learned about grid connection of Power Plants within the Company, locally and worldwide.
• To travel locally and abroad when necessary.

Who You Are:
REQUIREMENTS
• At least 7 to 10 years of relevant work experience
• 4+ years of relevant work experience in transmission planning, preferably with exposure to generation interconnection studies and processes.
• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering will be a plus.
• Excellent work ethic, flexibility, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of power systems: Protection system operation and reliability philosophy, Utility system practices, Reactive compensation theory, Substation maintenance techniques, Transmission line maintenance techniques.
• Knowledge of tariffs, specifically interconnection procedures, strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of transmission planning standards and criteria of NERC and one or more Regional Entities
• Outage planning, and Congestion philosophy and analysis.
• Background with an ISO or Reliability coordinator a plus.
• Coordinate with the EGP NERC Compliance Group in ensuring that all required periodic communications and submissions are addressed as required
• Experience or thorough knowledge of state-of-the-art techniques in power flow, short circuit and transient stability analyses.
• Project management skills utilizing tools such as typical Gantt chart, risk assessment, responsibility matrix. Microsoft office and mobile software applications with abilities in PI a must.
• Excellent work ethics with focus, flexibility, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Ability to prioritize work and participate as a team member on multiple projects at one time.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a competitive mindset.
• Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and through written documents.
• Ability to work and interact in local and international contexts with people from different cultures (colleagues, Public Authorities and Suppliers)
• Familiarity with ANSI standards, NESC, and IEEE standards.
• Transmission planning standards and criteria of NERC and one or more Regional Entities
• Participation within an RTO/ISO Regions.
