SMV Recruiting LLC is actively searching for a Facilities and Maintenance Manager for our client in the Boston, MA area. Our client is an awesome brewery that is rapidly growing and gaining recognition throughout the country. They are known for the New England IPA and awesome innovative/cutting edge craft brews and looking to gain a retail presence. In this position, you would be responsible for all aspects of equipment and facility maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair as well as serving as a primary project manager for special projects. Responsibilities
- Gain an expert knowledge of all equipment, processes, and requirements to keep the company running at optimum efficiency
- Develop and implement Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs
- React quickly and effectively during equipment downtime to resolve issues
- Communicate with multiple departments when maintenance is required in their area, informing them of any possible disruptions or downtime
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair all equipment and facility issues (or manage vendors as required)
- Continually improve equipment uptime and efficiency
- Be on-call to troubleshoot maintenance issues during off-shifts (the company is often a 24 hour facility)
- Contribute to the ongoing and future Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives
- Maintain all tools and spare parts inventories
- Develop, improve, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all critical path maintenance and repairs
- Train and mentor other employees to perform operator maintenance where applicable
- Implement new equipment and manage other special projects
- Maintain or establish a network of preferred vendors and tradespeople
Qualifications
- Degree or license in engineering, plumbing, mechanical or similar education/trade
- 10+ years of relevant experience working in a food and beverage manufacturing facility, ideally for a large scale brewery
- Strong understanding and experience with steam, compressed air, glycol cooling systems, pumps, plumbing, electrical, etc.
- 5+ years of experience with implementing and/or maintaining Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs and systems
- Excellent general skills and knowledge of engineering, mechanical, and troubleshooting (how things work) across many different types of equipment, systems, and facility requirements (e.g. HVAC, boilers, kitchens, bathrooms, etc.)
- Ability to mechanically maintain and quickly adjust equipment to improve its operation
- Prior experience with bottling and automation lines preferred
- Experience with project management and coordinating internal and external teams to accomplish goals
- Strong organization and communication skills, and experience directly managing at least 3 people
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Excel and Google Suite
