Job Description
Essential Job Duties:
- Serves as the IT solutions leader in the business.
- Overall responsibility for business and functional analysis, development, maintenance, support, and implementation of all IT solutions at one of the Clinical laboratory sites, including in-house developed and commercial software solutions.
- May directly supervise other IT solutions personnel including business/functional analysts, and development/QA/Test engineers both on and off-shore.
- Responsible for strategic alignment of IT solutions to business needs and priorities.
- Works to proactively identify solutions that will meet known needs and can be customized to meet a broad and ever changing set of requirements.
- Leads the internal development of, or purchase and implementation of technology solutions that are reliable, cost-effective, robust, secure, and meet the needs of EGL.
- Actively collaborate with leaders from other Eurofins US clinical companies on shared strategies and goals.
- Ability to identify opportunities that will achieve greater efficiencies and value within the business.
- Recruits, retains and fosters the development of highly-skilled IT solutions staff.
- Contributes to IT solutions budgeting process.
- Partners with IT infrastructure and IT security groups towards DevOps and SecDevOps initiatives.
- Provides local project management for IT solutions projects within EGL, together with other internal or external vendor IT project or program managers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
- 10-15 years of overall IT experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in an IT solutions leadership role.
- Proven results leading IT teams in the areas of software solutions delivery.
- Excellent communication skills with written and spoken English.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
- Up to 50% Travel required to our Genetics labs in Tucker, GA and Melville, NY
- Experience with IT solutions in laboratory or life sciences environments, such as LIS/LIMS.
- Experience with IT solutions in a clinical diagnostics or healthcare setting.
- Experience with interoperability and data exchange standards in healthcare, in particular HL7.
- Experience with deployment and support of SaaS and hybrid cloud solutions.
- Prior experience in a direct supervisory role.
- Certification or experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies.
