Purpose
Accountable for managing and supporting regional activities. Sources and evaluates suppliers, negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers, and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of operation materials, office supplies, equipment , inventory items, services and supplies for customer-related business processes or for internal use as a generalist or in a combination.
Accountabilities
- Implements regional strategies for cost reduction, supplier consolidation, quality improvements and process efficiencies.
- Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy, and discusses defects and delivery problems with suppliers and negotiates refunds; analyze relevant data and prepare reports.
- Plan the purchase of assigned catergories. Work with a different business units and teams to select competitive suppliers, through the elaboration of strategies
- Analyze the profile of the supplier base. Carry out supply market evaluations, identifying opportunities, weaknesses, strengths, threats, via market benchmarking
- Support procurement strategies for equipment, materials and services (generally complex markets), seeking to aggregate value, supply guarantee and innovation
- Monitor and analyze the variables (market, demand and total cost) in order to anticipate and prevent risks to the supply chain, identify and capture market opportunities
- Prepare and conduct sourcing and negotiations. Recommend agreements, participate on multifunction teams to execute the purchase of categories to meet internal customers' needs (quality, terms etc.), specifications improvement, testing of new materials and their post-acquisition performance by application
- Support the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures
- Issue and review purchase orders as required
- Issue and manage RFX's (RFI, RFQ, RFP) related activities with supervisor support
- Support Regional Supply Chain Management as required
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience, in Government, Business, Marketing, Finance Customer Relations and/or other related field required
- Minimum of 5 years related experience
- Experience in utility / energy industry preferred
- Skilled in making presentations to management
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to make independent decisions
- Excellent written and oral communications skills required
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Knowledge of business and computer applications
- Strong knowledge of Internet software and the Microsoft Office Suite of products
- Valid driver's license #LI-DS1
