Creative Financial Staffing is partnered with a well-established property management company located in Boston seeking a Property Accountant to join their team.
About the Company seeking a Property Accountant:
- Founded over 60 years ago
- Works with private owners as well as the Department of Housing and Urban Development
- Services properties in MA and FL, financed through programs such as Section 8 and Low Income Tax Credits
- Reporting to the Controller, the Property Accountant also works with three clerks focused on AR, AP, and compliance
Responsibilities of the Property Accountant:
- Full-cycle accounting for 15+ properties including
- Tying AR & AP to the trial balance, identifying and resolving any variances
- Balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Booking the mortgage, variances, and any fees
- Preparing variance analysis on a quarterly basis
- Assisting with the budget on a yearly basis
- Preparing for the yearly audit
Background Expected of the Property Accountant:
- 3+ years in full-cycle accounting
- Property accounting experience a plus but not required
- Yardi or experience with a software implementation is a plus
- Bachelor's degree or experience equivalent
