Position Summary and Responsibilities
Job Summary
Working under general supervision, this position maintains and repairs the facility's structure, equipment and grounds, including light plumbing, electrical and HVAC, as well as coordination of facility vendors. Performs some skilled trades work, such as minor carpentry or painting in the construction, repair or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures. Works with other departments including, but not limited, to Manufacturing, Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering.
Essential Functions
- Repairs walls, windows, doors and ceilings.
- Performs routine maintenance and repair on HVAC equipment.
- Install and repair typical plumbing lines, electrical wiring and conduit.
- Prepare and paint surfaces of the building and equipment.
- Completes Facilities Work Requests for internal customers.
- Assist in constructing and maintaining structures and performing general handyperson tasks such as woodworking and cleaning.
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on schedule including associated paperwork and electronic documentation.
- Maintain and comply with all regulatory agency rules, regulations and labeling requirements. HAZMAT, OSHA, APCD, NFPA, etc.
- Investigate malfunctions and repair equipment or interface with service technicians.
- Install, dismantle and move machines, equipment and office furniture.
- Maintain facility and equipment in a clean, professional, orderly condition and follow prescribed safety and TPM.
- Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices.
- Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements
- Able to perform (but not limited to) the following skills at a non-trade level: carpentry, drywall, plumbing, new installations, modifications and maintenance.
- Must have basic understanding of electrical, HVAC and Building Automation Systems.
- Familiar with and use all hand and power tools common to the skills listed and be well versed in the disciplines mentioned above.
- Able to read and interpret building schematic drawings, sketches, instructions, blue prints and specifications.
- Experience in EH&S is preferred.
- Able to speak, understand, read and write English.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, push, pull, climb, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and frequently use hand and power tools.
- Must be able to carry and lift up to but no more than 35 lbs. frequently without assistance, and up to 75 lbs. using the buddy system.
- Will frequently be required to utilize computer equipment, keyboard, mouse, phone.
